It is very unattractive really with it's swayed leggy stems and some are up to three feet tall. This spiky milkweed plant grows up to 6 ft, high. I think the spherical head was composed of many smaller flowers, but i also doubt it was an allium.

Young leaves might even be edible, but wild lettuce tends to be on the bitter side. Although the plant resembles the common dandelion, the foliage is a lighter shade of green and the flowers a paler yellow. The plant produces easily identifiable lime green, spiky seed pods.

Its Flower Doesn’t Look That Much Like A Dandelion, And The Plant Itself Doesn’t Really Either, But The Fluffy Seed Head Looks A Lot Like A Giant Dandelion.


Okay the basal rosette looks like it might be a dandelion and it does have a yellow flower, although they aren't blooming right now. Look for it in rich, moist forests. The seed heads look like a big puffball, up to several inches in diameter.
